It was great to get back to Cody, Wyoming and photograph the wild horses of McCullough Peaks. I previously had the opportunity to photograph them last September so it was great to see many of the familiar faces and that they had survived another winter. They were definitely more active during this visit as there were several outburst of skirmishes between stallions battling for dominance during the three days that I spent photographing them.
We were fortunate in that there was a band of approximately 75 horses hanging out together so it provided for some great photo opportunities. There were some smaller bands as well. As I have said before the McCullough Peaks wild horse herd is one of the more beautiful herds of wild horses as there is a multitude of paints of various colors. It is truly worth taking the time to see these beautiful and amazing creatures if you are ever near Cody, Wyoming.
