Rodeo Queen

It has been a while since I have had a chance to post anything recently. I am learning that Meneire’s and extreme high temperatures in the 100’s don’t do well together. Temperatures have remained in the upper 90’s at 10:00 PM in the evening! The combination of the two has just drained my energy so it’s been a challenge to try and get out to shoot any photos. The forecast for this week calls for temperatures to be near 106 degrees every day. I grabbed my camera a couple of days ago and stopped by one of the local parks to try and shoot some photos of the young prairie dog pups but even they realized that it was too hot to come out of their holes.

The photo above is another that I shot during the Western Heritage Parade. I positioned myself in the shade of the downtown buildings in order to avoid shooting into the sun. I was also purposely positioned to try and capture the Texas flag as the backdrop. It is important to pay attention to your backgrounds, especially when photographing people. I love the bright colors of her outfit and the catch light in her eyes.
